Pandemic - 'Rainbow Light'
In the early days of the Covid-19 pandemic and the tragedy that unfolded for so many of us, we recognised the bravery and selflessness of our NHS workers on the front line by putting up rainbow pictures everywhere, as a mark of gratitude and solidarity.
Rainbow Light: Sacred River. Oil Pastel, 2020 (21cm x 30cm)
Whilst going through my own challenges I started to create my own rainbow inspired pieces using oil pastels, which quickly evolved into a series of works, as shown. My intention was to gift these to one of our local hospitals in Sussex as a mark of gratitude, which I am in the process of doing.
Rainbow Light: Hyperreality. Oil Pastel, 2020 (21cm x 30cm)
Rainbow Light: Quantum. Oil Pastel, 2020 (21cm x 30cm)
These works are in inner reflection of the work I do in Arts in Health, as a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Brighton and as a Community Arts Facilitator.
Rainbow Light: Reef. Oil Pastel, 2020 (21cm x 30cm)
Rainbow Light: Outlier. Oil Pastel, 2020 (21cm x 30cm)
Rainbow Light: Joy. Oil Pastel, 2020 (21cm x 30cm)
